The term “organic” has been corrupted to mean a specific process of farming. How did this corruption occur?

Where I live they still plough the fields using oxen and other animals are used in the harvesting. It is just like a step back in time. These days organic food is grown using machinery, combine harvesters and tractors. Can it be truly called organic when we use fuel driven machinery.
Cyrus: this type of farming has nothing to do with Amish, it is just a way of life for certain farmers. There are no Amish in Andalucia.

Jon Bansen believes that since he converted his farm over to being organic and sustainable, he’s becomes a much better farmer, and built a better business. In this story, there may be important lessons for both farmers and the American Public. Recipe from the episode: Egg Enchiladas

I dont understand why an organic apple is almost twice the price of a regular apple. I would figure that without the use of expensive pesticides and/or hormones added to these natural foods, the price savings would be forwarded to the customer. Personally this is a huge marketing ploy and these farmers are getting paid.
