cunninglinguist11111 asked:

The water in my sink was very slow to go down the drain and when I used a sink auger it only got slightly better. I was shocked when I disconnected the p-trap and found a green gel like mass between the trap and the drain. It had a very organic smell. What is this and what caused it?

This is caused from years of toothpaste and soap scum not being washed all the way out of the drain. It turns green from no sunlight be able to get to it and growing in the dark.

Sounds like algae. Try bleach, and think about cleaning your bathroom between linguistic sessions — might even get more of those cunning students willing to go to your pad.
